For the most part, my lunches are boring and repetitive. I pretty much eat the same old thing every day when I’m home. What’s worst is that I don’t even mind it 😛 . It’s only on grocery days that I get to indulge in something different which, if you know me, might well end up being the same old thing that I keep ordering lol. And being the nerd that I am, I’m actually okay with that too.
Then there are the days when I’m kinda inspired to kick things up a notch, for instance, by movin’ on up from my usual plain rice with Indian curry… to briyani rice drowning in Indian curry, fried chicken and cabbage stirfry. Wow, some progress, huh lol!
Briyani rice is basmati (long-grained) rice infused with a host of aromatic Indian spices, its random grains of light golden color stained with saffron. It’s really quite delicious and now I’m hopelessly hooked.
The bonus that comes with this plate of deliciousness is the hard-boiled egg. Which is an awesome addition because honestly, who doesn’t love a hard-boiled egg? Oh, and that tall glass of refreshing iced tea sure completes the meal like a charm.
This meal has everything I like and nothing I don’t. So that’s a definite win-win for me. I don’t get to eat this as often as I’d like though, only when I happen to be in the vicinity of this eatery which might not be such a bad thing 😉 . I mean, if I ate like this every day, can you imagine what I’d look like.
