Chats on the Farmhouse Porch 131

Everyday Ruralty
Back from my wintry walk. Man, it’s cold out today and this incessant rain is annoying. My hands were frozen holding the umbrella. But I love breathing in the clean, cold air and the fact that the sun is nowhere in sight. Okay, so on with the chat and how’s everyone doing this morning?

1. What are your favorite condiments?

I love chili sauce, not the spicy oil with floating chili seeds that Chinese restaurants serve but the thick chili sauce like Frank’s. Got to have that with my french fries, hash browns, etc. I’m also big on fresh chilies like Jalapeno, serrano or bird’s eye with soy sauce. Then there’s honey mustard, tartar sauce and salsa.

2. What are you reading?

Just regular stuff on their internet. No time for much else as I’m hooked on a TV series.

3. What was the last dessert you had?

Cheesecake and Haagen Dazs ice-cream. Still trying to finish up that huge box of 108 pieces of cheesecake, absolutely crazy!

4. Wendell would like to know if you would build him a snowman. (If you don’t have snow, just pretend. He’s not detail oriented.)

Well, we haven’t had snow since 2 weeks ago. There’s been a couple of days of sunshine but just as I thought we could start wearing less, it’s starting to turn cold again. The rain is back but no snow. Sorry Wendell, would love to build a snowman for you but *sigh*. Can I offer you some sweet baby carrots instead?

5. Tell me something fun or interesting.

Thought you might be interested in my smart phone story of the week. I would set the alarm and somehow the volume would be turned off and then I would jump up and down going, man, I overslept because that dumb alarm didn’t ring! This happened twice last week as I was trying to get the hang of daylight savings. On the second occasion, I woke up just in time to see the alarm flashing on my screen and no ringing. That’s when I realized my phone was on silent. Duh!

Hope you guys have a fab week 😀 .

I have a cheesecake in the freezer. I’m tempted to get it out, but I also have ice cream. I need to stay away from these food evils till I can drop a few pounds. Dang, if I don’t hate dieting! Thanks for visiting!

I have shortbread cookies in my freezer and they will stay there because if I get them out they will get eaten (by me) and I don’t need them.

I am putting my winter clothes in a basket at the foot of the stairs and this past week I would toss a sweater in there only to grab it back in a couple of days.

I like honey mustard sauce, too. David does not like mustard. More for me. 🙂

Cheesecake is pretty much my all-time favorite dessert. We haven’t had it in a while, but it doesn’t exactly go with a diabetic, lactose-intolerant, want-to-be-vegan lifestyle either.

We almost made it to 80 degrees today. It was 79 degrees the last time we were out in the car.

    Have a great week!
