Toodles Febrrrruary

Right, so it’s Friday and it’s the last day of Febrrruary. So sad to see it go. It’s been a great month mostly because of the 3 enchanting snow days we had. You have to see it to believe it. I can’t seem to stop talking about it, can I?

Left my footprint in the snow

Aaand it’s grocery weekend again. These days, because we shop in bulk aka everything comes in the size of a truck! we only need to go groceries once every coupla weeks or so. And let me tell you, we really look forward to these grocery runs. Crazy, I know. There’s something about grabbing food items off the shelves like it’s going out of style, woop!

I literally get the shopping list started days ahead and then hand it to the girls to add on items as and when things start popping to mind. And we’re getting pretty good at bringing that shopping list out with us too. And yes, that shopping list is scribbled on good old-fashioned paper, not typed into our phones. Am I the only one who does this? Hands up if you do too 😀 .

In other news, I trimmed Hip2bDaughter2 and Hip2bSon’s hair earlier this week. If I’m going to set up my home ‘hair salon’, I might as well do two heads at once, right? So much fun. I used to cut all 3 of my kids’ hair up until recent years so this is nothing new to me. I’m what you might call a Rambo hair stylist. Atta-aack, chop, chop, chop 😆 .

I decided to take it upon myself to cut my babies’ hair from day one. First off, I couldn’t bear to put them through the trauma of a stranger grabbing their hair and knocking their head around. Secondly, I could not see myself paying someone to snip a few strands of hair which takes all of, what, 10 minutes? I mean, moms talk about bonding with their kids. Well, to me, this is absolutely the best way to bond.

Anyhoo, in anticipation of going out this weekend, I’ve cut my bangs so I can at least see from behind that jungle of hair. Pretty happy with that. The rest of my hair is still pretty much an overgrown bush at this point but I don’t care. I haven’t had hair this long since college because frankly in humid 90 degrees year round, it’d be crazy impractical. But here, it’s a different story.

Enough of my randomness. It’s looking to be a warm, sunny day today. I’m not sure what the wind chill is like but let’s hope it keeps the day cool. The weather man is promising more snow, let’s hope he keeps his word. So here’s to groceries, eating out and more snow. What are you guys up to this weekend?

Here’s to you having a warmer month in March! I know it was tough with all the snow you all have been getting. Thanks for sharing your randomness with us at Countdown in Style! Don’t forget to stop by Friday to see if you are featured 🙂

I am not sad to see February leave. This winter has been bitter and cold. I need Spring! I need sun!

I do, however, write my shopping list on good, old fashioned paper as well!

I’m probably the only one that would say I wish I had a colder winter. From California, who would often go to the mountains during the winter, I moved to Florida and we have NONE of that. Anyway, as much as I miss it, March is here! Thanks for sharing with Countdown in Style!
