Can you believe how crazy the weather is these days? One day, it’s sunny and the next, it’s snowy. With such unpredictable weather these days, we as parents have to be extra vigilant when driving and taking road trips especially with kids.

Scott Marshall, the Director of Training for Young Drivers of Canada, has lots of winter driving safety tips for everyone, and if you’re a parent, you really should check out his tips before heading out on the road.

First off, it’s important to ensure you check that your vehicle is in tip-top condition. There are many myths surrounding winter driving which we should be aware of but probably are not.

Secondly, we tend to be more distracted when driving with kids in the car. We have to take this into consideration and plan around those distractions with travel-friendly activities for the kids, well-timed stops, etc.

Thirdly, it’s important to ensure we have the proper Insurance to cover ourselves and our family on road trips in such hazardous winter-time driving conditions.
