1. Are we always responsible for our actions? Are there any exceptions?

I would say so except when you don’t have full control over your faculties or are under the influence of someone or something.

2. Has anyone from your home town become famous?

I don’t know. I don’t keep track.

3. January was National Slow Cooker month. Do you own a slow cooker/crock pot? Did you use it last month? What’s a favorite dish you make using a slow cooker or crock pot?

I have a sparkly new 6-quart slow cooker which I absolutely love. I love that it’s big enough to make 2 meals at one go. I’m a newbie at best. Last month was really the first time I started using a slow cooker in earnest. I made my version of chicken cacciatore, and this week, I made these amazing fall-off-the-bone Korean barbecue pork ribs. Very happy with the results.

4. How do you feel about private companies collecting data about you?

I honestly hate it when they insist you fill out 101 forms for every small thing when they don’t even need half of that info in the first place.

5. The Games of the 2014 Winter Olympics kick off with their opening ceremony this coming Friday….will you be watching? Which Winter Olympic event would you most like to see in person? Have you ever been to Russia? Any desire to go, Olympics or otherwise?

I’m not a sports fan. If I did go to Russia, I’d be shopping rather than cheering.

6. Share a good or bad sports related memory from your childhood or teen years.

I was lucky that PE was still PE when I went to school and one of my PE teachers taught us to play rounders, which is essentially baseball minus the spitting, haha. I loved it, couldn’t get enough of it.

7. What’s a must have song for you on a work out play list? If you don’t work out, run, swim, bike, walk, or anything else that could be construed as ‘exercise’, then what’s a song that motivates you to at least get up off the couch?

I prefer to work out without music. I find music to be a distraction. I like to keep a clear head so I can focus on what I’m doing and ‘listen’ to the muscles I’m working. But sure, if you talking about songs that make me get up and dance, there are lots. Conga by Miami Sound Machine would be one.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I went out for a walk this morning and when I got in the door, I couldn’t find my ears or my cheeks, haha. It’s 25 degrees here in BC but feels more much colder. Talk about crazy wind chill. Tomorrow the wind is going to pick up some more. I told my daughters they can probably do a Mary Poppins and save themselves a walk to college. We were doing so well too. Last week, the temps were moving up, then all of a sudden, they’re dipping back down even though the days are super-sunny. What’s up with that?

We’re under about 14 inches of snow, topped with a coating of ice, so there won’t be any walking today . We’re supposed to get more on Sunday, so it will be a while before we can get back into a normal routine. Hubs is working from home again today, which is only a little inconvenient in terms of my plans to vacuum : )

Yikes, 14 inches of snow!!! I know I really shouldn’t be complaining, well, I wasn’t actually, just marveling at how unpredictable the weather can be these days.
