Of weekends and housework

I love a clean home. Who doesn’t? But keeping a clean home takes time and effort. I’ll be the first to admit, I loathe housework. If you are a regular reader of this blog, you know I’ve often lamented about my utter dislike for cleaning house. Some days, I really feel like hiring Janitorial Cleaning Service Columbus, OH to come in and get my house spick and span. Seriously!

Where are those housekeeping robots they’ve been promising us? Come on, all you robotics experts, get to work already. It’s the twenty-first century. We shouldn’t have to be scrubbing, mopping, and cleaning our homes, they should be self-cleaning. I’ve got a self-cleaning oven and I’m over the moon. Look, if an oven can clean itself, why not take that concept and apply to the whole house? Hmmph.

That said, we’ve just finished our routine weekly clean. Yup, it’s a good thing the whole team chips in so we can get the job done more quickly. Here’s a tip, if you have kids, rope them in to help, it gets the job done much faster. Of course, it’s all worth it when your feet bounce off a clean floor, the dishes are all stacked, the clothes all tidied up and hanging where they should be (instead of in heaps everywhere).

Well, I guess that’s what weekends are for – to get the house spick and span for the following week. And it’s a great workout too for those arms and shoulders too 😀 . As if I needed to tell you that. That said, housework is a necessary evil we could all do without. Like most moms, I wish I could snap my fingers or wink an eye, and the house would magically straighten itself out and leave everything sparkling clean. We can only wish.
