Wednesday Hodgepodge 158

1. Are you a force to be reckoned with? In what way?

I’d like to think that I’m a great mom, or at least do my best to be one.

2. What are two things you love about the wintertime? Or, if love feels like too strong a word, what are two things you ‘like’ about winter?

Cozying up in bed and trying to snooze for just 5 more minutes, then 5 more minutes, ugh. Drinking hot soup on a cold day sure beats drinking it on a hot day.

3. Pomegranate, kumquat, persimmon, kiwi, and guava are all fruits said to have health benefits, particularly during the winter months. Do you have a favorite on the list? Are there any on the list you haven’t tried?

I’ve tried them all. Persimmon is my favorite.

4. I passed a local church yesterday and noticed they had this on their outdoor sign- ‘When all else fails, do the right thing.’ Your thoughts?

I agree. Even if everything goes fine, we should still do the right thing.

5. Do you ski? According to one list I’ve seen, the top 5 ski destinations for 2014 are-St. Anton Austria, Whistler Canada, Cortina Italy, Tahoe USA, and Zermatt Switzerland. Of the five listed, which would you most like to visit? We can make skiing optional if that helps the non-skiers with their answer.

I don’t ski. One time, we planned to go to Tahoe but my girl friend changed our plans at the last minute so we went to Reno instead. So that was that. Whistler is nearest to where I’m at so I might just make a trip there one of these days.

6. What’s the last thing you looked for online? (Besides my blog!)

Checking the weather, my new job spec.

7. What saying, slogan, quote, or motto have you seen lately that inspires you for the new year?

Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind. – Dr Seuss

8. Insert your own random thought here.

Missed my morning walk, hoping to make it up later… looks like we might be getting a bit of sun. And that’s it, guess I’m late to the Hodgepodge party AGAIN! Nevertheless, have a great hump day, everyone 😀 .

I love the Dr. Seuss quote…he had lots of good ones! We had crazy fog this morning, but it cleared and hit 50 degrees. Supposed to snow on Saturday. The weather is not sure what season it is : )

I agree with your #4 answer; even if it works the other way, do the right thing.

Persimmon is my fave of those too. I’ve got 2 being stubborn about ripening for me right now but they’re worth the wait!

Yes, I read about your persimmons. I don’t have the patience to wait but I like mine overripe and soft so I would just forget about them and check on them every few days?
