Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi everyone, before I get down to today’s post, I’d like to take a little time to say I’m thankful for all of you who read and comment. I read each and every one of your comments and I deeply appreciate that you took the time to write something meaningful. Love you guys. I’m thankful for the lurkers who, though silent, cling on to my every word. Imitation is the highest form of flattery, as the saying goes. I am flattered that I am inspiring some of you to do as I do and say as I say.

As for our little Thanksgiving meal, we slaved and toiled in the kitchen all day, barely 😉 . Steev is away at college *sobs* so we’ve scaled down our Thanksgiving dinner. I picked the smallest turkey I could find. In fact, it’s the size of a chicken or could it, in fact, be a chicken masquerading as a turkey? You be the judge but here it is, with all the imperfections of a very delicious plump, roasted feast…


… ready to go with our Cali-bought cranberry sauce from Trader Joe’s which we’ve been saving for the occasion. Mmm-mm!


The girls did most of the cooking this year. Aside from a veggie salad and a potato salad, they also made these stuffed Portobellos described by my 2 pretty chefs as “the best darned mushrooms eva”. Yes, there’s bacon in it, it would be a sin otherwise!


So that was our little Thanksgiving dinner with muffled “mmm, this is so-oo good” every 2 minutes, lots of laughter and reminiscing over previous Thanksgivings. I hope you enjoy yours.
