1. When it comes to good manners, what two top your list of most important?

The simple courtesies like greeting people (especially if they’re older), saying thank you, excuse me, sorry, and saying goodbyes when we leave. There’s also this intrusion of personal space. Some people have no qualms about stepping into someone else’s personal space, whether it’s in the escalator, checkout lines, even just walking. It doesn’t take much to just step aside or stand a little further away.

2. Let’s open a proverbial can of worms…Common Core. Are you familiar with the term (talking education reform in the USA)? If so, care to share your thoughts? In your opinion, what is one of the biggest issues schools (in your home country) face today?

There’s too much emphasis on homework for homework’s sake, loading up the kids simply to make them appear super busy, like they’re working very hard, learning a lot. In my opinion, homework is meant to reinforce learning, to enhance understanding and to apply what has been learnt.

3. Name a celebrity whose fashion sense you admire and share why.

I think Reese Witherspoon has good fashion sense, simple and sensible, stylish without showing too much skin.

4. How are you affected by the changing seasons?

I’m generally okay with it. We have cruise ship weather here, hot and sunny, hot and sunny. When I’m where there are 4 seasons, I actually like when the weather starts cooling down in the fall but not how the days get greyer, shorter and bleaker.

5. Scariest book you’ve ever read?

I don’t read scary books.

6. What time of day are you most hungry? What’s your go-to snack?

I’m hungry most of the time which is like every 2 hours or so. It’s not fun. I don’t like snacking and I don’t like having to eat every couple hours. So I’ll usually drink some tea or water, or chomp on some nuts or fruit to tide me over to the next meal.

7. Do you lean more towards being too needy or too independent? Which do you find harder to deal with in others?

I think I strike a balance. It’s harder to deal with people who are too independent and have no need for anyone else.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I’ve recently rediscovered my love for chrysanthemum tea. Best thing ever for hot days like these. Have a fab week, everyone. I’m going back to sipping my tea.
