Wednesday Hodgepodge 141

1. What’s the best thing about growing older?

I don’t know about growing older but I think you get to a point where you’re comfortable with who you are and what you stand for, and you can pretty much do what you like, wear what you like and not care what anyone else thinks.

2. When did you first feel like a grown up?

To be honest, I’ve never felt like a grownup 😀 .

3. Chocolate cake with white icing or white cake with chocolate icing?

Chocolate cake without icing. I always scoop off all the icing which is why when you see pictures of the cakes, muffins, or whatever I bake, they’re always plain, no icing, no glaze, no sugar dusting.

4. What’s the nicest thing a stranger has ever done for you?

Some of the nicest people I’ve run into are on my travels. I’ve often had complete strangers get up to help me lift rocks my carry-on into the overhead compartment without me asking.

5. What’s something you learned from your grandparents?

My grandma was the most beautiful person I’ve ever known and she taught me about honesty and honor and never giving up on your dreams.

6. Wednesday marks a sad day in the history of planet earth-9/11…what’s something you do (or can do) to bring peace to your little corner of the world?

7. Share a favorite quote, scripture, or song containing the word peace.

Better than a thousand hollow words, is one word that brings peace – The Buddha

8. Insert your own random thought here.

Man, what a day! Just when I thought I could heave a sigh of relief after a stressful project, I found out that my server was reaching 80% capacity. Took me about an hour to take care of that episode. Then I was off installing and customizing a blog theme and then suddenly the entire blog crashed. Everything was gone. Nicely done! It gave me a heart attack but I managed to get the blog back up fairly quick and my nose has been in code all day. I love code but clearly not this much 😐 .

Great questions, Joyce, thanks. Hope y’all have a fab day and thanks for commenting 😀 .

If my blog crashed I’d be a little nutty too. I do have mine printed into book form periodically, but still I’d be so sad. I like your quote.

I think I agree with you about never truly feeling like a grown-up but no icing? Really? Okay, don’t want you to make my birthday cake ;( but we can together somebody else’s birthday party and I’ll take your frosting! 🙂 (See? I really am still a kid!)

I love code because it’s like magic; you type and type and *voila* there’s a page! Okay, that’s still the magic through a student’s eyes, but I like productive brain stuff.
