1. What’s your worst food memory? How about one of your best?

Too many food memories, both good and bad, to list here so I’ll just go with the most recent. One of the worst was last Sunday’s so-called cheesecake that tasted more like jello. First bite and we all gagged at the same time, too funny. That’s one secret recipe I won’t be needing.

One of my best food memories is of the shrimp pasta we ate at a little Italian restaurant in Carmel, Cali (sorry, forgot the name but it’s so packed at lunch you can’t miss it). Loads of shrimp and bacon, it comes with extra cheese. So unbelievably good we ordered another plate right there. The boss noticed and stopped by to see how we were doing and we basically couldn’t stop raving. He offered us free desserts but we told him to save it for next time. We’re definitely going back even if it burns our pockets again.

2. Do you appreciate people telling it like it is, or would you rather a speaker temper his/her words and maybe beat around the bush a little? How about when you’re the one communicating…which type are you?

I prefer telling it like it is. Too many times, I’ve seen how outcomes could’ve been completely different if someone would just say it up front instead of mincing words. I think if it’s all packaged to come out in a nice way, hopefully feelings won’t get hurt in the process.

3. What’s your favorite place to hang out?

At a coffee place enjoying a cup of latte.

4. When do you most feel like you’re a slave to time?

When my kids are getting ready to fly off to college. I cook them their favorite food to eat before they leave. I always make sure they take away with them my homemade cookies, snacks or whatever.

5. What was the last concert you attended? Who’d you go with? Was it any good?

I went to the All-American Rejects concert with my teens and one of their friends from school a few years ago. We danced and sang along till we were hoarse. Then my two daughters went backstage to meet the band. So excited for them.

6. Reality TV…harmful or harmless? What’s your guilty pleasure when it comes to reality TV?

I don’t watch reality TV. I have no interest whatsoever in watching people b*tch all day and dramatize every little thing. Harmful or not, that’s really up to the individual to decide. My biggest concern is it’ll be all too easy for impressionable teens to pick up bad influences from reality stars who are likely to be their favorite celebs.

7. What’s something you think is overrated?

Wow, there are so many… iPads, iPhones, bubble tea, Facebook, Gangnam, …

8. Insert your own random thought here.

On my baking agenda today – pound cake, oatmeal cookies and pancake batter for tomorrow’s breakfast. So excited.

Thanks, Joyce. Have a great week, everyone and thanks for stopping by and commenting 😀 .
