Wednesday Hodgepodge 112

1. Chinese New Year will be celebrated on February 10th, and 2013 is the year of the snake. When did you last see a snake? Are you okay around snakes or do they give you the shivers?

One word, eww.

2. The color red in Chinese culture usually means good luck. Do you believe in luck?

I think the word luck is used rather loosely. When we chance upon something good, we tend to put it down to good luck. If red brings good luck, lottery counters and casinos would either have to ban the color or go broke, and everyone would be rushing to build red houses to live in. I believe in karma aka you reap what you sow.

3. sledding-ice skating-building a snowman…if given a choice, which activity would you choose? Which of the three have you done most recently?

None of the above.

4. Ralph Waldo Emerson is credited as saying, “The years teach much which the days never knew.” Where have you seen this quote played out in your own life?

Wow, my second crack at philosophy this week. I’ll just make it short and say parenting? I’ve learnt so much from my kids.

5. When was the last time you ate a cupcake?

I don’t remember. A few years ago probably.

6. What’s something you can’t say no to?

Someone to do all the stuff that I loathe like housework, taking out the trash, you know…

7. Are you a doodler?

Just give me a pen and paper.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I finally got off my butt and hit the gym yesterday after a somewhat extended on/off break. Not proud of slacking off but sometimes laziness and life get in the way. My first day back yesterday – so I got a little over-enthusiastic and now I’m paying for it… in a good way 😀 . So excited to be back, love the rush of a good workout.

I am looking forward to getting out and walking in the sunshine as I have been sitting around while it is cold outside. Kudos for going to the gym.

I’ve been fighting some sort of respiratory thing that just won’t quit, so I’m way off track at the gym. It’s an easy habit for me to break…I don’t need much of a reason not to go : )

Kudos on the workout…we should all be doing that! The Hubs and I try to make it to the gym at least three evenings a week, however when he is out of town I turn into a HUGE slacker!
