Fun and games

Well, it looks like I’m hooked on Sudoku. To think I waved it away when I was first introduced to it. When would a busy mom like me find time to play? was my first thought. Long before I had kids, I was a Tetris queen, winning prizes at the Tetris contests we had at the office. Did I mention that was before I had kids?

With Sudoku, I started out looking over my lovelies’ shoulders as they frantically filled in the blanks during the long wait times at restaurants and such. Quite frankly, it was all a blur to me. Even after they explained it to me, it didn’t quite sink in.

None of it actually made much sense until this past week when I had to park myself at a McDonald’s to wait for Raine. Instead of watching the world go by, as I usually do, I whipped out my Google phone and decided to try my hand at a game of Sudoku.

One game led to another and before I knew it, I was hooked. Initially it took me 11+ minutes to complete a game. Within a half hour or so of full concentration and ignoring the folks peering at my screen as they walked by with their breakfast trays, I was clocking 7+ minutes, then 6+ minutes.

Of course, I’m playing the Easy version, not the brain-cracking version – yet 😆 . Ya, ya, I’m workin’ on it, I’m workin’ on it. It’s really fun and a great way to kill some waiting time.

Any Sudoku fans out there? What games do you play? What got you started/hooked?
