What did I want to be when I grew up?

When I was a kid, what did I want to be when I grew up? Interesting question. I read somewhere that every kid many kids grow up wanting to be teachers. That’s like almost a standard first ambition of every child and believe it or not, it was my first ambition too.

I think it had to do with wanting to write on the chalk board so bad. It looked like a lot of fun. Clearly I had some sort of fascination with chalk, especially the colored ones which, for some strange reason, were quite rare and only the Geography teacher used to use them 😆 .

As it turned out, I didn’t become a teacher by profession. But I do teach college and working adults from time to time now. It’s fun though writing with a whiteboard marker isn’t half as much fun as writing with chalk 😛 .

Oh my goshiness I wanted to use the chalk soooo bad, really I think I might have dreamt about it when I wasn’t at school and then just when it was my turn to really start rockin’ and rollin’ in front of the chalkboard they up and switch to whiteboards, and smartboards and… boo. =)

😛 Great blog! I never wanted to be a teacher, but I remember playing school at home with my chalkboard! That was so awesome. So you teach adults in college? Once I finish my degree, I would really like to possibly teach in a community college or 4 year adult program. Seems like less headache than kids in gradeschool.
