Who you talkin’ to?

So Skye and I stopped by the grocery store after dropping Raine off at college. For some strange reason, grocery shopping is starting to become a bit of a drag for me. So I try to do the quick and dirty and I’m out of there.

To speed things up, the girls and I will usually split up so we can run around, grab stuff, toss them into the cart, then race off to checkout. Oftentimes I would walk ahead to look for something on my list and one of the girls would be close behind with the cart.

That’s what we were doing earlier this week. Skye was pushing the cart a ways behind me as I speed-walked down the aisle looking for my canned tuna. Or so I thought.

“Where’s my tuna? I can’t find it. Um, where can it be? Oh no, I think maybe it’s sold out again…”

I was carrying on quite the conversation and rather loudly too, thinking Skye was nearby. Instead Skye was standing at the far end of the aisle. But there was a woman right beside me who probably thought I was nuts 😯 !

Has something like this happened to you before? What embarrassing things have you done in public?

Well, all i can say is I’m in awe if food shopping only now has become a bit of a drag — I don’t remember it EVER being more than that! :))

Oh yeah, I did it just the other day. We were in Lebanon (and since my husband is Lebanese he looks like 50% of the other men there at LEAST) and when I was looking at something in the aisle of a supermarket, my husband was behind me. I am carrying on a conversation with him! He walked to another aisle, I didn’t know. I turned around and there is a man, my hand to God, who, from the back looked IDENTICAL. So I slipped my hand around his waist, and asked him what he thought about whatever it is I was looking for. HE looked pleased as punch. I was not so amused…..

I do this all the time to my kids or my husband. I’m sure there are plenty of time people have thought I was nuts. I love that you were walking around asking where your tuna is, hilarious.
