Tucked away in a corner

We must’ve walked past this restaurant a thousand times. Tucked in a corner of the mall, the place looks quite unassuming from the outside with just a few wooden tables and never so busy that the tables are all full.

But once we got through the narrow entrance, it opened up to this inside…

Raw brick walls, unfinished ceiling, rugged wooden beams holding up vertical lights, dried tree branches sprouting out from a low wooden fencing and a pebble-encrusted mirror at the wash basin area.

We ended up having a very rustic meal in a very rustic setting. To the girls’ horror, I was bobbing my head up and down to the piped-in pseudo-African music 😯 .

I had an iced lemon tea and their super-hot, super-spicy grilled chicken with corn and grilled vegetables. What? You must be thinking, a carb-free meal for a carb freak? Something must be wrong here! Nothing wrong with a healthy, delicious chow-down with my girls in a really nice rustic environment in the middle of a crazy city 😉 !

By the way, if you’re wondering if this is the place where my girls took me for Mother’s Day, no, it isn’t! I really wish we’d come here instead. I don’t even want to talk about it except to say, the Italian restaurant we went to on Mother’s Day served me a completely tasteless Parmesan Chicken which prompted me to cancel our order of tiramisu. Hmmph! Hope you had a better meal.

That place looks amazing! Sorry to hear you missed the tiramisu on mother’s day 🙁 I would have been bummed too. I love finding those places you think are just going to be holes in the wall. They are usually the best!
