Pineapple in disguise

I can’t remember when was the last time I bought a pineapple. I’m always wary of it turning out to be sour so I absolutely refuse to buy one unless it’s very, very ripe, like this one.

I’m not sure what variety this is but the deep yellow skin color is, to me, an indication that the fruit is very ripe and therefore very sweet (read: safe to buy). Secondly, it’s small enough that I can eat it all up by myself.

Then I decided to try this trick. I bought a bag of potato chips, made a tropical salsa out of this baby, and my girls fell for it!! Brilliant!

i buy a whole pineapple like twice a year because it just seems like a lot of work to prep it. it’s not REALLY a lot of work but it involves more than just picking it up and eating it
