Lately Tyson has been one happy baby beagle. Hip2bDad and the girls have been taking him for walks every chance they get. Hopefully that’ll get him to work off the excess energy which he’s been channeling into chewing up the few measly roses and destroying what’s left of our little garden  !

Here he is with his newfound friend who lives down the road. This Labrador is the only one in the neighborhood who would actually kiss Tyson.

The others, they just either stare as Tyson walks past or they get all upset because they don’t even come close to being the lady’s man that Tyson is  !

Here’s dear Tyson, victorious after an evening’s adventure. Isn’t he absolutely gorgeous? By the way, those dark circles around his eyes aren’t due to lack of sleep ‘cos he’s one sleepy baby.

What do you with a puppy that’s too smart and active for his own good? Well, that’s Tyson, our baby beagle who isn’t such a baby any more. He’s turning into quite a terror, chewing on slippers, tearing around the garden, eating up flowers and plants, breaking stuff …

When we’re around, he’s on good behavior, sitting there quietly like a doll. The minute we turn our backs, he’s up to no good. Sometimes I feel like giving him natural sleeping pills to keep him from being such a pest.

Friday, I was hard at work on my computer (I swear I was!! ) when I heard the sound of heavy vehicles outside my window. Turned out it was a whole fleet of bulldozers and steam rollers and about 20 men come to re-tar the road outside my house. Okay, great, there goes my peaceful morning and quiet concentration! But at least we should have a half-decent road by the end of it.

When the noise finally ceased, I ran downstairs (that’s my exercise!) to get myself a cup of Chinese tea and as usual, I glanced at Tyson’s spot in the garden. I couldn’t see him. I thought he was probably sleeping again but I couldn’t see him anywhere! That’s when I panicked! And started shouting “Tyson! Tyson!” Not a sound!

OMG, don’t tell me he’s been dognapped. Only the day before, a neighbor apparently had her Nikes shoenapped in broad daylight while she was upstairs surfing www.weightlossproduct.org! Ack, Tyson is definitely worth a lot more and much better looking than a pair of Nikes  .

I opened the front door and there sitting underneath my minivan was Tyson with his front paws tucked into his chest, looking at me with those big round eyes. He was quiet, his tail wasn’t wagging and he refused the food I offered him! Tyson refusing food?? Now that’s a first  ! Instead he ran straight into the house.

Poor guy! Those awful loud noises must’ve scared him out of his wits. Nasty shock for me too! What if Tyson had really run away to escape the noise? We love the little guy like crazy. Can’t imagine what we would do without him  .

Skye pointed out this beautiful African Daisy to me. It’s growing in our garden but I didn’t notice it. That’s how clueless I can be  . But isn’t it beautiful though?

Skye tells me that Tyson, our beagle pup, has been chewing on it, hence the missing petals on top. Tyson is such a little pig – seriously – he’ll eat and drink anything in his path, from healthy protein drinks from http://www.proteinpowder.net to flavored almonds to super-sour lemons.

His favorite food for now seems to be our shoes!! Our flip-flops are all beautifully punctured for better air flow, I guess? And the only thing he doesn’t seem to like is mandarin orange peel  . I don’t blame him. I wouldn’t eat it either.

Oh, and by the way, Daisy sits on a raised cement platform now so she can continue to bloom without losing her mind flowers!

While it’s the same old, same old every house we visited this year, ours isn’t. We’ve got a star attraction to show off and he has, so far, got everyone we know going ga-ga…

… yep, that would be Tyson, our beauty king of a baby beagle. Isn’t he cute? He smiles too and yelps when he hears his name. Tyson’s been with us for only about 5 months now, so he wasn’t around last Chinese New Year. This year, our visitors were surprised to see happy little Tyson at their feet.

Hip2bDad’s best buddy dropped by with his family. Their 2 teen boys are around the same age as our 3, and as young families, we’ve spent many fun times together checking out new playgrounds, comparing toys, wondering which baby jogger city mini to buy and trading child-proofing stories.

We could easily tell that Hip2bDad’s buddy was quite taken with Tyson and was indicating to his boys that they too should probably get a pet when they return home. The only problem is they live in a condominium where space may be a constraint. We don’t think that’s going to stop him though  .

Anyhow, back to Tyson. He’s getting all the attention from our festive visitors as well as from Raine and Skye. Since they have a week off from school, they have all the time in the world to pamper, sneak him forbidden snacks, spray him with water to cool him off in this heat, take him for walks and of course, Tyson is only too happy to pose for photos. We love you, Ty. You’re the cutest!

Tyson spends most of his day sleeping after he tires of playing with his toys and chewing on his beefy sticks. If the weather is good, the girls will take him for a walk in the park, something he really looks forward to. It makes me smile to see him stand on two legs and wag his tail till it’s about to drop off  .

Tyson’s grown up such a lot yet he’s still such a little baby. There are so many smells and sights that are still so new and fascinating to him that he stops to smell everything, yes, even the grass  ! Beagles and their noses!!

We place him on one of these modern benches (that’s what I call them) and he turns round and round trying to figure a way down. The reason why these pictures are shaky is he can’t stop moving long enough for me to get a decent shot with my phone camera.

Once we get to the play area, he’s so excited by the colors there’s no stopping him. And ever since we got him started going up the steps to the top of the slide, that’s where he heads to first thing. Go, Ty! and down he slides, ears flying!
