1. Do you ever watch old TV shows or movies from your childhood or youth?

I don’t watch TV.

2. Have you ever adopted a rescued animal?

3. Are you good at keeping track of paperwork and records?

The beginnings are usually good and then I tend to slack off. Would appreciate any tips on how to stay on track.

4. What would you like the Magic Wendell Fairy to poof with his wand, and turn into a treat for you? Any snack or sweet you would like? It doesn’t have to do with carrots, or HE’D eat it!

A nice cold drink (non-alcoholic please) would be nice. The weather is nasty hot here.

5. Tell me something interesting- please.

My girl friend will be here in 20 seconds to pick me up. I’m off. Have a great week.

1. Other than those who live in your home, who’s the last person who came to your front door?

The mailman.

2. Do you have many photos around your home?

Yes, I think photos are what make a house a home.

3. Do you like mint? Is there a favorite type of mint for you? How do you enjoy it?

I wouldn’t say I’m especially minty 😀 but I’m okay with peppermint, spearmint, …

4. Do you enjoy your own parties and other times with guests, or are you so busy working…?

I tend to be overly concerned that everyone’s being well-fed and there’s enough of food and drinks to go around. But I do make an effort to stop and chat and mingle with my guests.

5. What do you want to be when you grow up more? Job, hobby, self improvement, etc.

I have many varied interests, too many to name, and I wouldn’t mind taking them on as a job or hobby or self-improvment project. I like to keep busy. If only I could find time to do them all. Am I being greedy?

Okay, that’s it from me. Have a great week!

1. D3 is facing wisdom teeth removal. Have you had your wisdom teeth removed?

Still got them but none the wiser.

2. Today Wendell is serving iced tea, iced coffee, and carrot juice. He wants me to ask you which you’d prefer.

Iced coffee please. I’ve been running errands all morning and I’m hungry and thirsty.

3. If you use a crock pot, do you have a favorite recipe? If not, what is your favorite, easy “go to” recipe?

My favorite is pulled pork. I’ve only made this once though and it was amazing. I can’t wait to make this again when the weather gets cooler. Right now, it’s too hot to turn on the crockpot.

4. Do you prefer to wash dishes by hand or dishwasher? Yes, I know some of us probably don’t like dish washing. Wendell flat out refuses!

Hands down, dishwasher.

5. What are you looking forward to?

I’m looking forward to more traveling.

That’s it from me today. Keeping it short as I’m late posting this. Have a great week, everyone!

Happy Wednesday, let me jump right in…

1. Do you like cucumbers? Is there a favorite way for you to prepare them?

With weather as hot as this, freshly sliced cucumbers are a welcome side to any meal. I also like them lightly grilled.

2. How good a housekeeper are you?

Not at all. I’m a neat freak and I like a neat house, so why is it that I hate housekeeping so much?

3. Please finish this: To spend a day____________would be amazing!

… on the beach under a huge umbrella with pen and notebook in hand, feeling the sea breeze on my face and listening to the crash of the waves …

4. How do you handle times when you are “down” or “blue”(depressed)?

I try to talk myself out of it, and if that doesn’t work, talking it out with someone sometimes helps. Sometimes just listening in to my kids’ lively chatter helps me snap out of it. A good meal, retail therapy and prayer are other good ways to chase the blues away.

5. Have you started using essential oils, since they have become so popular?

It’s not something I need or find useful, so no 😀 .

Have a hugely wonderful week!

1. What’s your favorite kind of cheese?

I’m not a big cheese person.

2. Have you ever been in a log cabin?

Yes, if you count those at theme parks, etc.

3. What is your favorite kind of salad dressing?

I love toasted sesame dressing which I discovered a few years ago at a Japanese restaurant. Now I have a bottle of it in my fridge.

4. When was the last time you saw someone from your high school days?

Wow, ages ago. Since I rarely ever visit my home city so naturally I’m not in on the events they organize there from time to time.

5. Tell me what the perfect dinner party would look like for you.

Ideally it would be at my favorite restaurant with a group of maybe 10 people who get along and have a sense of humor.

Hope you have a wonderful week 😀 .

Hey, how’s everyone?

1. What do you think you would have liked most from my menu?

I would’ve loved the oven-roasted sweet potatoes.

2. Have you ever had an interesting experience with serving dinner guests?

We invited our friends to a sit-down dinner at a hotel, and one of our friends’ sisters crashed our dinner by bringing 5 or 6 of HER friends along. We had no idea who these people were nor had we ever met them. Needless to say, there weren’t enough seats and we had to add on extra places. Never mind that no one from this group, the sister included, brought any gift, they left the party later without so much as a goodbye or thank you, and we never saw them again. Lovely folks!

3. What’s your favorite beverage this summer?

Orange juice. Am totally in love with fresh orange juice.

4. Do you ever have bouquets of fresh flowers in your home?

5. Tell me something interesting. Please.

We met a man this morning and somehow we ended up talking even though I had no idea who he is. I’m not the most chatty of people but it happens sometimes. He and I were chatting like old friends if you can believe it, haha. It was only after he had left that one of my daughters commented he looked and behaved like her high school classmate. This man was much older though. It was only after he’d left that she realized some of the things he’d said actually matched up with what she knew about her ex-classmate. Turns out the man was his uncle. How did that happen?!!

Well, that’s it from me today. Hope you all have a wonderful week.

Hey everyone, is it that day of the week again? *rubbing hands together and rolling up sleeves*

1. Do you like lemon-aid? Any special flavors?

Not a fan of lemonaid, sorry. I love iced lemon tea though.

2. I’m trying not to use paper goods for this party. How many place settings of silverware(eating utensils) could you come up with? I wish I could borrow some!!!!!!!!

Let’s see, I might have 3 sets of Corelle dinnerware.

3. Have you ever been to a party in a barn?

No but I bet it would be fun 😀 .

4. Do you wear nail polish?

Oooh, I love nail polish but I’m not wearing any right now. The weather is so crazy hot even my fingernails are perspiring ahahaha so no, not adding on layers of any sort.

5. Please finish this sentence. I wish I could__________________.

I wish I could get back down to my blogging routine. My timing is so out of whack these days that I seem to be blogging in my head most of the time and none not much of it makes it to my keyboard.

Hope you all have a super rest of the week.

1. Do you have a vegetable garden this year? Have you in previous years?

No, never. I figure a vegetable garden might be too ambitious for someone like me. But I’d like to maybe start with a modest herb garden some day.

2. What is your computer sitting on right now? Desk, dining room table, lap…?

On my desk.

3. Do you go shorter with your hair in the summer?

Sure. I’ve just had mine snipped a few inches shorter. It had grown way too long over the winter and with the humidity these days, it’s impossible to wear it long.

4. Are you an early top bed person, or a night owl?

I’m in bed by 10:30 tops. When the kids were younger, my bedtime used to be 9:30 to synchronize with theirs.

5. Tell me something funny. I’ll tell you something funny too. 🙂

Last night, one of my kids brought up an incident at Friday’s when a blob of mashed potato went sailing wheeee… clear across the room from literally out of nowhere and landed on someone’s head table to their utter horror. We heard a muted shriek and then some servers came running trying to locate the flying blob. Can you imagine? Muahahaha, it was hilarious! We laughed so hard tears were streaming down our faces and we almost fell off our chairs!!!

Have a great one 😀 .

1. If you could magically have a full grown tree in any place you choose, what kind would it be?

A giant sequoia, like the ones in Yosemite. I mean, can you imagine how cool it must be reaching that high up into the clouds?

2. Do you like scented or unscented soaps, lotions, etc?

3. What’s your favorite way to cook potatoes?

Roast potatoes, easy and tasty.

4. How often do you wear jeans?

Most of the time I’m out, I guess. Then again, it depends on where I am. In certain places, it’s not practical (or wise) to wear short shorts and skirts or even spaghetti straps out in public. I know, crazy, right? 😆

5. Do you trace your ancestry? (Wow! This question must be for Suzanne.)

Nah but it might be interesting though.

Have a great week, everyone.

1. What is your favorite berry?

Hands down, blueberry though I pretty much like them all.

2. If you had the choice of a picnic or a sit down dinner, which would you choose?

The sit down dinner, for sure. I haven’t learned how to enjoy a picnic. I’m constantly thinking about how to avoid the sun, and mosquitoes, and heaven forbid if I should get sand in my food 😆 .

3. How is your handwriting? Fancy, plain, legible, doctor-like?

My handwriting is like print.

4. Do you prefer a desk top computer, laptop, or tablet?

I’m a diehard desktop lover. Love my large screen, full-size keyboard and real mouse. My laptop is for travel and I’m probably the only geek in the world who doesn’t own a tablet. I would look ridiculous hauling a ton of gadgets around with me to the mall, seriously.

5. Tell me something interesting, please.

I’ve just learned to sing 2 songs in a fifth language *patting myself on the back here*. Allergies can do strange things to you. I needed some sort of distraction.

Hope y’all have a fab week. Keep smiling 😀 .
