One word, magical

There’s only one word to describe today. Magical.

Just as we’re planning a quiet weekend at home, it starts to snow. We step outside and everything is covered in a thick blanket of white.

I mean, this isn’t the overnight frost we’ve been getting. This is the real thing. Snow is really falling from the skies, tell me I’m not dreaming. The light wind is blowing snowflakes onto our faces, our hair, our clothes, leaving it lingering softly on our eyelashes and lips. And the taste of snow is like love’s forbidden kiss. Okay, okay, so maybe I’m getting a little carried away here but can you blame me?

The feel of freshly fallen snow under my feet is the softness of a baby’s breath. So soft and sweet!

As the day progresses, it snows more and more heavily. We just know we have to get out there, no question about it! Leaving our footprints in the snow…

The stairway to winter’s paradise perhaps. Whatever, but it sure doesn’t get any more romantic than this.

The leaves heavy with snow…

And this, my friends, is truly magical. So quiet and peaceful it feels like we’re inside a snow globe. We stay out here for a long while, building a snow man, watching the snow fall ever so gently and breathing in the beauty of it all.

I will admit when snow is falling and when its first blanketing everything, it does look beautiful, but I would not want to live in the cold. I also don’t like how people still have to go out and work in it even when the roads are bad, etc. I mean, especially if they are in a job that is much needed like in the medical field, what else can they do right? I get it. I just don’t like it. 🙁 What I do appreciate about it though is being able to see pictures like these because it is really lovely. Thanks for sharing it with us at Countdown in Style! Don’t forget to stop by Friday to see if you are featured 🙂
