1. What’s the last thing you baked?

As usual, before my kids leave for college, or before I leave after visiting them, I will cook/bake up a storm. It makes me feel much better leaving them with something I’ve made with my own hands that they can enjoy away from Mom.

This time, I baked 2 types of cookies for Steev before he left to go back to college – chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal cookies.

2. What’s your favorite thing about fall?

I love the colors and crunch of fallen leaves. So beautiful and oh so romantic.

3. What’s your favorite room in your home?

My home office which is where I spend most of my time working hanging out. Or wherever my computer happens to be.

4. Who handles bill paying in your house?

Me… and man, would I quit this job in a minute 🙄 !!

5. Tell whatever you’d like to share with our chatting friends.

I’ve been sitting here thinking about my slow cooker all this week. Yup, I have a slow cooker that’s been sitting pretty on the counter for ages. I can’t even remember the last time I fired it up. I think it’s time to explore its hidden potential. Better to have the slow cooker sweat it out than me, right? Do you use a slow cooker? Do you have any tips or recipes for an absolute noob like me?

I would gladly give up bill paying. It’s depressing! I want to bake cookies for my college daughter soon. I need something that mails well. I use my slow cooker often for stews, soups, and making sauces for the freezer. I got most of recipes from slow cooker books at the library. I’d post some, but I’m swamped painting a room right now. Have a great week!

I got a crock pot when we were first married and used it maybe once or twice. I found out using the oven works just as well and it doesn’t take up precious counter top or cabinet space. I don’t have the crock pot anymore. =D

I have 2 crock pots and my kid’s brought theirs when they came home from college. I use them regularly. Crock pot cookbooks are abundant, or you can go online and find tons of recipes. For me, the crock pot is the best kitchen appliance ever!

I’d like to start baking, but I’m gonna wait till the temps or the humidity goes down.
Even with air conditioning the house gets hot and stuffy with the oven on (another reason why I love my crock pot!). Have a great rest of your week.

Slow cookers are awesome. I can’t cook at all so I started out with flavor packages especially made for slow cookers, they have recipes on them. Then I branched out to recipes from Recipes.com and a lot of them are really simple. So far they’ve all turned out great!! And the work involved is much less than cooking in the oven or on the stove.
