If you’ve been following my tweets on Twitter, you might just have caught on to what happens in my house every weekend. Yes, my three teens would set up their laptops in a row and play their computer games.
It does get quite noisy as they cheer, jeer and laugh at each other. I jokingly threatened to send them for rapid detox for opiates, more like rehab for computer addicts, if they make too much noise.
My smart alecks argue that this is their family time
. They’re too stressed out by the extended school hours this year, they say. They don’t get to spend much time together and this is how they destress and stay sane.

This has been something I have been thinking a lot about lately. Our house seems to be very similar lately. We all are guilty. Kids on their DSs, iPods, phones, and parents (yes me too) on our computers. I walk into what is supposedly called the ‘family room’ and find everyone attached to their electronics. Where are we going with this?
Well, I guess it’s better than nothing right? lol. Oh, there’s a little something for you here
My husband and I used to laptop battle with our respective computers set up across the dining room table from each other. Now we have a bigger house and he’s in his office. Computing near each other is more quality time than being separated for sure!
