We’re back! Penang Island is still is beautiful as ever but the most exciting part was we stayed at the newly-opened Hard Rock Hotel which totally rocked our socks off . We were so excited we set out on our journey at 4:00am and got there too early to check in, silly us!

Anyhow camping out at the lobby wasn’t so bad. We settled in one of those cushy sofas and put our feet up. The kids watched a movie on our laptop and I was tweeting from my pocket PC while keeping one eye peeled for Paul Walker who later called to say he’d missed his flight and couldn’t meet us there .

And I snapped this one lying in bed and looking out to sea. I could stare out at sea all day .

We later drove across the island to Queensbay Mall which faces a small island. The esplanade offers a beautiful view of that island that’s so near you can almost reach out and touch it. We had dinner there before heading back to the hotel which is a 45 minute coastal drive with some steep hairpin bends offering breathtaking views of the open ocean below.
