a stranger needed help

We’ve been cooped up in the house for like a week now, and although today’s probably not the wisest to be out at a crowded place, we needed to get out badly enough.

outcoldAfter lunch, we were walking around 1Utama when we saw an older woman on the floor in the arms of a younger woman.

It wasn’t immediately clear to me that it was a person lying there. I saw a pair of outstretched legs and I thought a store staff was trying to dress up a mannequin.

As we got closer, we saw two women in headscarves. The younger woman was looking up desperately at passers-by for assistance but everyone just stared and either walked away or moved further back to watch.

The woman’s having an epileptic fit and people think it’s a movie set :shock: ! The kids and I were shocked too but as we stepped to the side and hurried on, I was telling them we needed to go get some help.

Raine spotted the information desk downstairs near Burger King so we hurried down the escalator. I described the situation to the desk staff and he immediately dispatched the nearby security guard to where the women were.

That’s the only thing I could do. I have no idea how to help someone in an epileptic fit. I don’t know what happened after I reported the matter either. But I hope the woman got the help she needed and is going to be okay.

    @blinka
    If there was someone in the crowd that day who knew first aid, no one stepped forward. That’s pretty sad alright.

    luckily you went to get help :) I heard that it’s best not to touch that person when he/she is having fits and also to not crowd around this person. When the person has stopped, it’s good that some water is given and let him/her rest.

    Wow, so they actually come out of it just like that, huh?
