I have to admit that it’s pretty refreshing going out without the kids. I went out to breakfast with a girl friend, just the two of us. For once, I could actually hear my own voice. My ears are usually buzzing with the kids’ chatter.
My friend and I spent a leisurely morning over cups of coffee and tea. I sometimes forget how liberating adult conversation can be
.
Our conversation centered around where’s a good place to eat in town. My friend is blissfully single so I really didn’t have the heart to bore her with stories of my kids. I can only swap mommy stories with friends who have teens.
